You'll need a USB/outlet plug (like the one that some phones come with). It's a nice sized string of lights; I wrapped it under my child's loft bed and it adds some fun, festive lighting. My main purpose for it was to give me light when I am rummaging through the dressers that are under the loft bed. It does the job well. I'm considering getting another set for my bedroom just for the fun of it. Overall, I am satisfied with the product.
